The easiest way to judge the temper and ambitions of a society is when you see two main things - what this society has created and how it manages its inheritance from the past. What can be said about our generation then - we are focused on ourselves and our daily rounds. There are only few of us who can spare some time to explore our architectural heritage. And it gives the answers to so many questions - what has moved the previous generations, what needs did they have, how did they live, what was important to them.
To help more people to learn something new about our cultural heritage, Alpha Bank Bulgaria and the National contest "Building of the Year", organized by City Media Group, created “The Emblematic Buildings of Bulgaria". This initiative aims to promote legendary, renovated or restored in recent years buildings, all of which are indispensable part of the Bulgarian cultural and historical heritage.
This initiative is a part of the long standing traditions of Alpha Bank Bulgaria in supporting and developing important cultural projects across the country, contributing to the common cultural heritage and achievements of Bulgaria.
“The Emblematic Buildings of Bulgaria” presents 12 renovated buildings- monuments of culture in an easy and convenient way. By visiting this website, you can view each of the 12 buildings in an interactive 360° video, read some interesting facts and vote for your favorite emblematic building. The one that gets the most votes will become "The Emblematic Building of Bulgaria for 2014”.
Take a journey to each of the buildings and see everything that makes it unique and legendary. You can vote directly on the website or through the mobile application "The Emblematic Buildings" without registrations or complex procedures. This poll will be open until November 30th.
Due to the great interest, the voting for the favorite Emblematic building of 2014 will be extended until 12:00 o'clock on December 10th, 2014
In support of “The Emblematic Buildings of Bulgaria", two interactive exhibitions of the 12 buildings will be organized. You can visit them from October 7th to 22nd in Plovdiv on "Knyaz Alexander I" Str. (near the Roman stadium) and in Sofia, on "Vitosha" Blvd.
You can explore all of the 12 buildings through your mobile phone or tablet in detail and from all sides. By using the specially created Augmented Reality application, you can make each of these buildings come alive in front of you, so you can easily take a precise look at them.
The application can be downloaded from Google play for Android, and Apple Store for iOS for free. You can find the markers that you scan with the application in the gallery of each building, on this website and at the exhibition boards, located in Plovdiv and Sofia.
